Senior citizens, referred to as Golden Citizens, are granted complimentary admission. On the other hand, for foreigners or non-residents in Costa Rica, the fees differ: adults (12 years and older) are charged $10 plus VAT, children aged 2 to 12 years are charged $5 plus VAT, and children under 2 years old enter for free.
It’s important to note that from September 1st, 2023, visitors must obtain their entrance tickets exclusively through the official website of Carara National Park. This means tickets will no longer be available at the park entrance or any other physical location.
For specific cases such as admission of Golden Citizens, national or resident children under 2 years old, and non-resident foreign children under 2 years old, reserving their ticket in advance for their respective entry and registration to the National Park is mandatory.
This reservation requirement applies without exception and ensures a smooth and organized visit for all visitors to Carara National Park.
